Diagnostic Imaging of Southbury (DIS) and Naugatuck Valley Radiology Associates (NVRA) have partnered with five regional radiology groups to form a statewide network of radiology practices. The Connecticut Imaging Alliance (CIA) is a partnership between NVRA, Radiology Associates of Hartford, Radiology Associates of Middletown, New Haven Radiology Associates and Diagnostic Imaging of Milford. This collaboration creates the largest such network in Connecticut, resulting in efficiencies that will help provide the highest quality of patient care in the most cost-effective manner.
“This is the first time such a geographically wide network like this has been created for patients and referring physicians in Connecticut” said Geoffrey L. Manton, M.D., CIA board secretary “We’re integrating the very best clinical resources, highly trained staff and technological infrastructure in the state. Since we began talks about forming the CIA our focus has always been about how we can improve care for patients, this gives us the best platform to do that going forward.”
“By combining both our geographic reach and collective imaging expertise, patients in the state now have the most comprehensive network of free-standing imaging centers to choose from”, commented Michael Twohig, M.D., CIA board president “This also allows us to shape patient care protocols for radiology in Connecticut using data analytics and clinical expertise going forward and to eliminate cost redundancies for our patients and insurers.”
The CIA currently consists of 54 board certified and subspecialty board certified radiologists. Initial efforts are currently being focused on integrating patient care protocols and cost mitigation efforts.
